Foster Application

Our organization does not have a brick and mortar building to house our adoptable cats and kittens.  Instead, we rely on our network of fosters to care for and love our pets.  We provide food, litter, medical care and other essentials.  Our fosters provide a loving home (generally, a spare room).  In fact, our very existence relies upon our foster network.  We often must turn away cats and kittens in need due to foster shortage.  Specifically, the spring and summer months bring nonstop requests for help with homeless kittens.

Have you lost a pet and aren't really ready to adopt again, but want to help homeless cats?  Have you thought about adopting but aren't sure you want a lifetime commitment?  Are you an animal lover and just want to help an animal in need?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, fostering might just be the ticket!

Fosters can choose how many pets they can handle, how long they can foster and even the type of cat (such as a kitten or litter of kittens, and older or younger cat, a pregnant cat, bottle babies, etc.)  If possible, we ask your help in transporting your charge to and from vet appointments.  If you cannot arrange this, we will provide the transportation.  Of course, all vet visits are paid for by the Rescue.

One special area of fostering to consider is Long Term Fostering.  This applies to some of our kitties, such as special needs cats, cats with medical issues, and others who may not be easily adoptable.  It takes a special person (or family) to take on this type of foster cat, but we promise you will be richly rewarded by giving a needy cat a warm, loving home.  Many of our long term fosters become "foster failures", and end up adopting the cat they've cared for.  That is completely up to the foster!

If fostering is something you'd like to do, just go to Foster Application and complete the Foster Application.  If you need more information or have specific questions, just drop us an email at:  info@locrami.com and we'll be happy to assist.
