I love to play fetch on the basement steps with my foster dad with just a plain ol’  Pom Pom ball. When I’m done playing, I run and jump on Foster moms lap to nap. I’m not very vocal, just chirp and sing quietly. I’m very smart. I come when my foster mom calls me, even when I had to take medicine for a cold (as long as I got a treat afterwards). If I get into something I’m not supposed to, my foster mom just says ”hey,  no” and I listen. I’m still very skiddish when any outside door opens or anyone comes to visit - then I hide inside the couch and won’t come out until they leave. Hopefully this will change as I get older and learn to trust more. I’m a very sweet boy and I deserve a loving home, even though I tested positive for FIV.

FIV+ cats can live as long and healthy a life as non-infected cats. This doesn’t mean they will never become ill; they are, after all immunocompromised, so illnesses can be easier to catch and harder to fight off. They have the same needs as any other cat: high quality nutrition, a clean, stress-free, strictly indoor environment, regular veterinary visits, and lots of love. If they should become ill, they are generally treated earlier, longer, and more aggressively than non-immunocompromised cats (meaning they need to see the vet at the very first sign of illness and may be on a stronger medication or on medication for a longer period of time). Won’t you consider adopting this very sweet boy? He is truly deserving of a wonderful fur-ever home! You can view some of our adoptable cats and kittens during store hours at the Commerce Petsmart on the west side of Haggerty Road just north of 14 Mile Road.
