Hera has a truly special story. She came from a feral colony and was scooped up along with a group of other cats to be fixed and released. That’s why you might notice the little clip on the top of her ear—it’s a universal sign that she’s already been spayed, so if she were ever caught again, rescuers would know. But wait—Hera and her brother Odysseus seemed young… maybe too young to go back to a life outdoors. Could they have a chance at a loving home? Only time would tell.

When they first came to me, Hera and Odysseus were frightened and distrusting. It took weeks before they would even tolerate my fingers near them. Weeks more until they stopped hiding. But then—something wonderful happened. They got curious. Curious about the other kittens playing. Curious about the snuggles they were missing. Slowly, they began to join in the fun. Then they started jumping up on the bed, watching, learning, and finally—accepting love.

Hera now allows pets and affection, and just recently, when she went for her shots, she let a stranger hold her and pet her. What a reward! If you feel you're the kind of person who wants to continue this miracle—helping Hera complete her journey from a life of survival in the elements to the warmth of a forever home—then she just might be your perfect match. With patience and love, Hera will be your loyal and devoted companion.

All of our cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested for FIV/FELV , and up to date on vaccinations including rabies, distemper, and de-wormer.
